Louisa Kasdon is a Boston-based columnist and food writer. After a hectic, harrowing experience as the co-owner of three restaurants, she started to write about the restaurant industry as part of her path back to sanity. In addition to writing about the food world, she writes about heath and travel, and is a columnist for the Boston Phoenix, the food editor of Stuff Magazine, and has contributed to MORE, Cooking Light, the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, the Christian Science Monitor, and Fortune among others.
Currently, she is completing a book with the founder of the Canyon Ranch, and is researching a book on Food Fighters, the people who are changing the way America eats.
Kasdon was awarded the 2008 bi-annual M.F.K. Fisher Prize for Excellence in Culinary Writing. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, MIT, and the Wharton School, and acquired much of her food know-how in the Great Hall of MIT where she ran the morning donut concession.
